AACVPR News & Views Contributor Amplification Toolkit

Thank you for contributing to News & Views

You've already done the hard work by creating an article that will make a difference for countless cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation (CR/PR) professionals.

Now, AACVPR needs your help to spread the word! This toolkit will make it easy for you to share your article on social media and amplify its impact. Let’s work together to get your insights into the hands of those who will benefit most!

4 Steps to Promoting Your News & Views Article or The Pulse Pod Episode:

1.      Share on your social media platforms.

o   Write your post. Here is example copy you can modify for your purposes:

o   ARTICLE: I’m excited to be a contributor to News & Views, the official publication of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Read my article on [XXX topic] and let me know your thoughts in the comments! [Insert article link]

§  Happy to provide perspective on News & Views for #AACVPR! My
article about [XXX topic] is ready to read now at [insert article link].

o   PODCAST: I was honored to be a guest on The Pulse Pod, the official podcast of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Listen to the episode on [XXX topic] and let me know your thoughts in the comments! [Insert podcast link]

§  Happy to provide perspective on The Pulse Pod for #AACVPR! My
article about [XXX topic] is ready to read now at [insert podcast link].

o   Consider additionally adding a sentence or two explaining the importance of the topic to you.

o   Find and tag AACVPR across social platforms. AACVPR is on LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube.

2.      Engage with AACVPR’s social posts about your content.

o   If you haven’t yet, please let the AACVPR content team know your social media handles so they can tag you.

o   Once your article is shared, join the conversation by commenting on the post, resharing it, and/or adding it to your social media feed.

o   While you’re at it, engage with other posts on AACVPR’s social media platforms to help amplify fellow AACVPR voices!

3.      Start or join a conversation about your content contribution on The Pulse, an AACVPR members-only online community.

o   Determine where you would like to share your content. (e.g., in the General Discussions forum or within a specialized group).

o   If relevant, determine which author will create the post.

o   Aim to drive engagement (e.g., ask a question). Here is an example of post copy for this article:

§  Post Title: Has your organization adopted new tools for COPD patients?

Post Body: Hi everyone, I’m excited to share this article I contributed to for News & Views: “Inspiratory Muscle Training and COPD: A Missed Opportunity?” [Insert article link].

I hope you will all take a few minutes to read the article and then return here to share your perspective! Has your organization used inspiratory muscle training with your pulmonary rehabilitation patients? What have been some of your experiences and patient outcomes? Looking forward to reading your comments!

§  Let the AACVPR News & Views content team know you are planning to post. They are happy to assist you in creating your message and can include a link to the conversation within the article itself.

§  Bonus: Send out an email to your CR/PR colleagues, sharing your article or podcast episode, and engage them with more personalized outreach.

4.      Record a short video with our easy-to-use platform.

o   Consider these tips:

§  Ensure notifications are silenced on your computer and move to a quiet place to record.

§  Select a background that isn’t busy and have a light source in front of you (e.g., in front of a window, instead of behind you).

§Look directly into the camera on your computer instead of at the screen.

§Practice your talking points prior to hitting the record button.

§Relax and have fun!

Click here to record your video. Once you submit it, AACVPR staff will be able to access the video to use in promotions, but you can also download it to share on your own social media platforms.

See here for an example from an author who recorded a video and shared it on LinkedIn.

Bonus: Spread the Word!

  • Send your content contribution to your colleagues/network/group chat and encourage them to submit an article themselves.
  • Feature your content contribution prominently on your LinkedIn page, professional website, or CV.
